Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc

The wine that put NZ on the world wine map.

In 1983 David Hohnen tried his first glass of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. It was love at first sip – “the aromatics were amazing” he said. Two years later he and winemaker Kevin Judd started Cloudy Bay with a mission to take Marlborough wine to the rest of the world.

Cloudy Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc became the wine that put New Zealand on the world wine map. It’s the wine we like to call the Maserati of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine world awaits with anticipation every year at the release of this Sauvignon Blanc – nothing like a bit of pressure to bring out the best.

Cloudy Bay - the art of entertaining

Who doesn’t love a long lunch?

Cloudy Bay are all about the art of entertaining – bringing friends and family together over good food, good yarns and great wine.

They’ve thrown together a few soirées in their time so they know a thing or two about it. In fact, when it comes to entertaining they reckon keeping the food pairing simple is the way to go. Here are their top three tips:

1. Use fresh produce
2. Use local produce
3. Use seasonal produce

A sip of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc changed the wine world for good.

Cloudy Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was the wine that got the world talking. These days Cloudy Bay’s world class line up of wine also includes Marlborough Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, their famous Pelorus Methode Traditionelle sparkling, the iconic barrel fermeted Te Koko and the super premium Te Wahi Central Otago Pinot Noir.
