DON’T GET OFF THE COUCH
Getting wine delivered to your door shouldn’t be hard. We’ll only charge you four bucks a case for a fast delivery service straight to your home, office or bach.
Of course if you really live off the beaten track you’ll have to chuck in an extra four bucks gas money for the rural postie.
Is there a minimum order?
Yep, just add $50 worth of goodies (excluding freight) or any six bottles to your cart. There’s no minimum on anything from our Gifts section, these can be shipped anywhere in NZ with your own personal message.
What does it cost for delivery?
We charge a flat rate of $3.99 per case nationwide. We class a case as per 12 bottles. Of course if you really live off the beaten track you’ll have to chuck in an extra four bucks gas money for the rural postie. Get FREE DELIVERY nationwide on orders of 3 or more cases!
North & South Island – $3.99 per case
North & South Island Rural Delivery – $7.99 per case
Who delivers the wine?
We use our mates at Fastway Couriers to deliver. If you’re in the Auckland region you could occasionally be greeted by a good looking, well groomed young guy or girl wearing a The Good Wine Co branded t-shirt!
How quickly will I get my wine?
Once you’ve placed your order we’ll be working our arses off to get your order to you as quickly as possible. We usually dispatch orders same or next working day. When the courier’s picked up your order we’ll flick you a quick email to let you know.
Once dispatched, here’s when you can expect your order…
North Island – 1-2 working days
South Island 2-3 working days
Waiheke, Stewart & Great Barriers Islands – 2-3 working days
Want stuff for Christmas? We recommend ordering no later than the following dates…
South Island – Monday 18th December
North Island – Tuesday 19th December
Auckland – Wednesday 20th December
If it’s heading to a Rural Delivery address please allow 2-3 extra working days on top of those time frames.
What days are deliveries made?
Deliveries are made during standard working days, that’s Monday to Friday. In some areas we can arrange deliveries on Saturdays. It’ll cost an extra $6 to get the courier out of bed on the weekend, you’ll need to get in touch with us if you’d like us to arrange a Saturday delivery.
Want stuff for Christmas and New Years? Please be aware the couriers don’t deliver on the following days…
Monday 25th, Tuesday 26th December
Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd January
Do you do same day delivery?
Yep, to most parts of Auckland. Please check with us before ordering to see if the address is available for same day delivery.
If you need a really, really urgent order we also use a super speedy, urgent courier service. Prices vary depending on how much gas the courier guy or girl has to put in their car and how clogged up Auckland’s roads are. So just get in touch with us to firm up a price.
What about over night South Island delivery?
Yep, in some cases we can deliver overnight to a South Island address. Sorry, not available for Rural Delivery areas.
It costs $30 per case and travels via airfreight, but you’ll need to let us know if you’re wanting to use this urgent service so that we can ensure your order doesn’t miss its flight! If your address is Rural and you use this service you’ll receive your wine one business day quicker than using standard South Island freight.
What happens if I’m not in when the wine is delivered?
The courier driver will leave a calling card for you. Follow the instructions on the card to arrange re-delivery or to collect your wine from their depot if you’d prefer.
When placing your order you can leave instructions at the checkout to leave the wine in a safe place (for example by the back door, with the neighbours or in the garden shed). Just use the “Delivery Instructions” box at the checkout to let us know.
Please remember though that we’re not insured if the wine goes missing after you have given authority to leave. Please also note drivers are unable to guarantee any text or phone call requests.
Who can sign for the wine?
Only persons over the age of 18 are able to sign and receive orders from us. This is in accordance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and Fastway Courier’s own Alcohol delivery policy.
If you’re lucky enough to look under the age of 25 the courier will ask to see valid ID. If the receiver is under the age of 18 or does not have valid ID the parcel will be returned to the depot for further instruction.
My wine is damaged, what now?
It doesn’t happen very often but if it does don’t worry – you’re covered! Your wine is insured up to the point of delivery, so if anything is damaged we’ll replace it pronto.
But remember, if you’ve given authority to leave the wine without a signature and it’s stolen or damaged we’re not covered.
Can I come and collect my order?
No, sorry. We’re an online only business and our liquor license strictly prohibits pick ups from our distribution warehouse. Please get in touch if you’re in the Auckland area and need an order ASAP, we may be able to help by way of same day or urgent courier.
