Main Divide Rosé is made by the Pegasus Bay crew – a primo Waipara producer with international recognition for their classy line up of wines.
This is the little brother to their Pegasus Bay label. Just quietly we reckon it’s punching well above its weight for under twenty bucks! Main Divide is the name given to the mighty Southern Alp range, nicknamed the “backbone of the South Island” by some southerners.
Made using a blend of grape varieties which have typically included Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Scoring 4 Stars in the NZ Listener with Michael Cooper who said “Bright pink with fresh, berryish aromas, this crisp, lively wine is from a “unique assemblage of varieties” – past vintages included pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. A dry style, it has vigorous strawberry, peach and watermelon flavours and shows very good depth.”
Serve it nicely chilled and pair with fresh salads, white meat and seafood dishes.
