Longview Vista Shiraz Barbera

This is the follow up 2023 vintage to the highly successful 2021 & 2022 vintages of this seriously delicious Shiraz Barbera blend from Longview. Yet again this is a wine that delivers and then some!

From a good 2023 Adelaide Hills vintage (rated 8/10 by James Halliday) the crew at Longview describe their wine quite simply – “Pepper. Dark Cherry. Spicy. Bright. Juicy. Savoury.”  And they reckon it’s super with spag’bol!

They go on to say “Longview’s Vista Shiraz Barbera is a great marriage of Australia and Italy. Shiraz (73%) is distinct, spicy and savoury with crunchy berry fruit from our cool climate whilst the Barbera (27%) adds a juicy, cherry-like brightness and taut acid backbone that gives the wine a wonderful structure. Extremely drinkable in its youth, but will develop nicely over 5 years.”

This is a classy middleweight red blend of 73% Shiraz with 27% of the Barbera grape for its blackberry, licorice and herb characters. Think Australia meets Italy!

Yet again it’s received thumbs up from several top Aussie critics who yet again talk about its sheer drinkability and bang for buck!
