One of the world’s finest and most expensive Rosés. The first ever pink to hit three digits. Garrus is a Rosé experience you’re unlikely to have ever come across before.

Sacha Lichine is the man behind Whispering Angel and his family is one of the most important in the French wine world. Heck, his old man was nicknamed The Pope of Wine! Château d’Esclans sits in the hills above St Tropez and boasts some of the oldest Grenache vines in the area being more than a century old.

Sacha brought in one of the best to help craft the world’s leading luxury Rosé with winemaker Patrick Léon joining the team, Patrick has spent over 20 years as head winemaker at Mouton Rothschild. With world class winemaking expertise and state of the art whizz-bang technology at play it’s not hard to see why anything under the Chateau d’Esclans name is so highly sought after.

Garrus is the finest wine that Chateau d’Esclans produce. Made from 100 year old Grenache vines from a single vineyard and entirely fermented in large French oak barrels for 11 months.

This latest 2022 vintage scored 95/100 with one of the world’s leading critics in James Suckling who said “Ample, textural and flavorful. Flinty oak, apricots, minerals, nectarines and subtle grapefruit on the nose. It’s full-bodied for rosé, mingling spices and herbs at the center palate. Focused, tactile and well-built. Long and flavorful finish. Drink or hold.”

The wine also featured in a Decanter article “Château d’Esclans: Would you pay for rosé that tastes like Burgundy? Decanter journalist Joanna Simon tasted the five vintages of two of the world’s most expensive rosés, Garrus and Les Clans and asked the question: is it worth it? The short answer was…yes!

“Has Lichine achieved what he set out to do? In my view, yes. The wines are rich and vinous yet elegant, and they become more complex with age. Garrus, especially, starts out more like white Burgundy and can become more like red Burgundy with age, which surely can’t be bad.”

“Are they worth the money? Only you can decide what to spend your money on, but their quality compares with wines of equivalent price.”

A genuine fine wine Rosé that’s full bodied and creamy with an incredible array of flavours – red and stone fruits, exotic spice, marzipan, dried peaches and passionfruit.

A Rosé for the VVIPs. Treat yourself.
