The end of a legacy. Specifically, Vidal Legacy. The axe has dropped on this legendary label and this latest 2019 release is the final vintage ever – and to move stocks along pronto the winery has offered a simply jaw dropping discount. It’s not every day we can actually offer a 50% discount but these wines genuinely had an RRP of $79.99 – now up for grabs at an unbelievable $39.99! Limited stocks.

Anthony Joseph Vidal was just 22 years young when he jumped off the ship from Spain way back in 1888. After purchasing a small section in Hawke’s Bay in 1905 he converted the stables that occupied the land into a wine cellar. Hey presto – Vidal Estate was born!

Wind the clock forward a few decades, it’s now one of Hawke’s Bay’s best known producers making everything from great value, every day drinking vinos to the top shelf stuff you want to tuck in the cellar or gift to that seriously snobby know-it-all wine mate of yours.

The Vidal Legacy series is the very best that Vidal produce – and they don’t bang these out every vintage. Conditions have to be tip top before the Vidal winemaking team feel happy to bottle anything under their Legacy Series. This is the final ever release of this label (2019) with the previous releases 2016, 2013 and 2010 receiving scores of 96/100, 98/100 and 96/100 respectively from Master of Wine Bob Campbell!

Aged for 18 months in French oak from a select of their world class Gimblett Gravels vineyards (Omahu, Ngakirikiri and Vidal) with only 11 barriques made in total and cellaring potential of 10-12 years – this is one hell of a wine for the money!
