Double 5-Star rated Marlborough Sauvy, made by superstar winemaker Dave Clouston.
Dave grew up on the banks of the Awatere and Wairau Rivers, thus the name Two Rivers. He’s labelled this one “Convergence” as the grapes are sourced from four seperate vineyards on the banks of the Wairau and Awatere Rivers – each bringing something different to help create this classy, elegant drop.
Since ’08 Dave’s won a cabinet full of Trophies, Golds and 5 Star reviews for his awfully classy Convergence Sauvignon Blanc label. We’d be here all day listing ’em but it has won No.1 Sauvy in both Winestate magazine and Cuisine magazine a few years back.
Here’s what a handful of local wine critics had to say on the current 2018…
5 Stars, 93/100 – Sam Kim (Wine Orbit)
“Punchy and flavoursome…A hugely appealing sauvignon”
5 Stars – Raymond Chan
“This is a surprisingly weighty and mouthfilling, textured Sauvignon Blanc.”
4 1/2 Stars – Michael Cooper (MW)
“The classy 2018 vintage is from five sites in the Awatere, Southern and Wairau valley…A label worth discovering.”
4 Stars, 92/100 – Bob Campbell (MW)
“An appealing wine with weight and power.”
You’ll be even more blown away if you match this Marlborough wonder with the wonderful fare of Marlborough – it’s gotta be fresh oysters all the way!
