The Satyr. Part man, part goat, tails, legs and horns.
In honour of this freakish Greek mythological creature the guys and girls at Sileni Estate went and produced a freak of their own disguised under a delicious, award winning Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris.
This crazy beast went and took out a damn impressive Blue/Gold medal (judged with food) at one of the world’s top wine shows – the Sydney International Wine Competition.
This is a style of Pinot Gris that is just so, so good for summer drinking (but don’t let it stop you any other time of the year!). Loads of fresh stone fruit flavours with a refreshingly dry finish. Seriously, we’ve stashed a few bottles in the staff fridge already. This is a real find for a quality, dry style, Gold medal Gris at this price.
It probably doesn’t come as a surprise (given it won in Sydney) that this label was originally produced exclusively for the Aussie market – we’ve sweet talked our way into hooking into a stash they had hiding at Sileni HQ.
Drinking superbly now but has the legs to last into 2019. But really, why wait that long? Chuck a case in the cart, chill it down and bust it out of the fridge on a stinkin’ hot summers arvo.
