    Sit back, strap yourself in and get set to be blown away by this full blooded, robust Aussie blockbuster! This would have to be one of the best premium red wine deals we’ve seen so far this year, and we don’t throw that line out there lightly! This is a $70 Aussie Cabernet completely smashed down in price to an unprecedented $31.99 per bottle!

    China’s trade war with Aussie has left a number of Oz producers with excess stock on their hands and some seriously crazy deals on offer. After a few emails, a few phone calls, and a couple of samples (we had to make sure this was the real deal) a limited shipment has made its way to NZ and we got in on the action.

    This is the nuts and bolts of it all…

    * RRP $70 Aussie Cabernet Sauvignon slashed by OVER HALF PRICE down to $33.99!
    * From one of McLaren Vale’s oldest producers
    * 5 Stars, 96/100 (Sam Kim)
    * Five years bottle aged under its belt already
    * A whopper in every sense, packing a punch at 14.8%!
    * Fruit from vines that are over 50 years old
    * Aged 26 months in oak (25% in expensive new French Oak, 75% in 3-4 year old barriques)
    * A cellar worth red of real class – drink now to 2036
    * Extremely limited stocks for the NZ market – when it’s gone, it’s gone

    Pirra…pirri…mimimi…mimma. It’s “PIRRA-MEE-MA”. The name’s a mouthful and so’s the wine! Part of their “Ironstone” series with the very best fruit from their Orchard vineyard, planted in 1967, from “Basket Weaved” vines and no shortcuts taken in the winery either. Aged a whopping 26 months in oak, 25% in expensive new French oak and 75% in 3-4 year old barriques.

    In his huge 5 Star, 96/100 rating, critic Sam Kim said this “Opulent and substantial, the wine shows blackberry, sweet cherry, vanillin oak, tobacco and smoked game notes on the nose, leading to a palate exhibiting outstanding concentration and depth. It’s plush and sumptuous, and properly structured by loads of grainy tannins, finishing magnificently long and engaging. At its best: Now to 2036.”

    Please note this wine is under screw cap closure – the image shows a cork closure.
