It’s that time of year when the Penfolds Bin hits the market and wine buffs and Penfolds enthusiasts trip over themselves to try the new vintages. Bin 9 is the new kid on the block being one of the latest additions to the Penfolds collection range, this being just its third vintage.

A classic 100% Cabernet Sauvignon using grapes sourced from Penfolds’ vineyards right across South Australia including the Barossa Valley, Coonawarra and Langhorne Creek with a fair bit from the McLaren Vale in there. A bold red with ripe dark fruit flavours – good to go now but, like most of the Penfolds Bin range, will only improve with a bit of time in the cellar.

How long? We reckon you can comfortably tuck this away over the next decade. Try it with roasted meats or spicy chorizo for the ideal food and wine match up.

    The Lowdown: 14.5% alc / 750ml / Screwcap
