From a region in central Spain noted for its very hot summers – much like this wine, hot! Rojo Granrojo Garnacha reminded us why we love Spain so much – bang for your buck!
Rojo (pronounced rock-o) is 100% Grenache (called Garnacha in Spain) from vines that are 40 years old. Over the years this blockbuster Spanish number has taken NZ by storm so if you haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for?
This is the latest ’24 vintage of Rojo Granrojo Garnacha that’s scored 93/100 with The Wine Orbit’s Sam Kim who said “It’s splendidly ripe and fragrant on the nose, showing dark plum, sweet cherry, rich floral, and subtle spice aromas. The palate is equally appealing with succulent fruit intensity, backed by supple texture and polished tannins, finishing long and robust. At its best: now to 2028.”
Soft, juicy, rich and highly gluggable red that’ll please the crowds for sure, Pinot Noir or Merlot lovers will love this softer style red especially. Irresistibly easy to slurp by itself, but goes well with red meats and all types of cheeses.
