One hundred and sixty years and five generations of family wine making – you don’t get to call yourself Australia’s oldest family owned winery unless you’re doing something seriously right. For their Y Series they’ve used grapes from across the South Australia region and to create this incredible drinkable Viognier (vee-on-yay).
In fact, this label is consistently thought as one of Aussie’s best value white wines year in, year out. And we wouldn’t disagree!
This latest 2023 release doesn’t disappoint either. Scoring 88/100 and a Top Value Award with The Real Review’s Gabrielle Poy, who said “Viognier can be a crowd divider: you either love it or not. This value version from Yalumba is a winner. The winemaking team have proven to be deft hands with the grape. This is a drink-now, loud and proud viognier. Intoxicating notes of pot-pourri and geranium lead into a richer core with some fruit sweetness (although it finishes dry).”
Highly drinkable (some would say dangerously drinkable!) white at a banging hot price. The question is Y the hell wouldn’t ya? If you’re pairing Viognier with a feed think roast chicken, curries, pork chops or if seafood’s your think think lobster, crab, shrimp or poached salmon.

Damn, you're looking young for your age!
