Villa Maria Reserve Barrique Fermented Chardonnay

Gisborne’s a region that made its name from those big, bold and beautiful styles of Chardonnay. So when one of New Zealand’s best Chardonnay producers (okay, they’re probably the best!) Villa Maria set out to make a traditional big, barrel fermented style they went straight to some of their finest Gizzy vineyards to source the fruit.

Big, bold, buttery heaven in a glass is how we like to call this one. Rest assure, nothing sneaks its way into a Villa Maria Reserve label without being bang on the mark.

Released after a couple of years from vintage, you’ll love it upon release but give it a few years yet and boy will it hit its straps. In fact the guys at Villa reckon it’s good to be tucked away for 8-10 years, so up to 2029.
