Yep, that’s right. Sunstones that used to form the river bed of an ancient river in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley are now used by the crew at Stoneleigh to radiate the daytime heat directly onto the vines, making them work hard to produce grapes full of crisp, vibrant flavour.

The Rapaura Series is the very best that Stoneleigh produce. Using single vineyard fruit from their vineyards in Marlborough’s “Golden Mile”, an area along Rapaura Road renowned for producing the best flavoured fruit in the Marlborough region.

Aside from using the power of stones winemaker Jamie also gave a portion of the wine some time in oak to add weight and complexity. Intensely flavoured, you can drink this one up until 2022.
