Sorry, this one’s a sell out!

Pirra…pirri…mimimi…mimma. The name’s a mouthful and so’s the wine! It’s one of those rare deals we’re lucky to see a handful of times each year on a premium label Aussie red that is quite simply far too good to turn down. What was a $32+ Cabernet has been slashed not far off half price!

It’s what happens when one of the world’s largest liquor buyers (somewhere in North America…our lips are sealed!) does a U-turn on a shipment and leaves the winery up to their eyeballs in excess stock and quickly needing to peddle some of it out of the winery door at a heavily discounted rate.

Made by Pirramimma (all together now pirra-mim-ma!) this full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is produced using some of the McLaren Vale’s oldest vines and aged in American oak for two years before release. From an excellent 2013 vintage (rated 9/10 by James Halliday) this has massive cellaring potential of another 15 years (up to 2033).

It scored 94/100 (Outstanding) by Aussie critic James Halliday, who also selected it as “Special Value” which are wines he reckons offer that extra bang for your buck. And yes, that review was based off a $30 price tag! It’s full of classic Cabernet flavours – blackcurrants, dark berries and plums with a touch of spice. Halliday said “This really is a smart wine, with a juicy cassis component to finish it off.

We don’t want to lay down the cheeseball sales pitch – but this seriously won’t last! So if you’re a Cabernet lover (or just love a deal) climb into it now while you can. With five years under its belt it’s drinking well now but it’s early days yet, chuck some in the cellar for the next decade or more!
