This is a Barossa label that needs little introduction. It’s got a cult following with the Aussie red hardcore and produced by a winery with a massive rep (Saltrams) Pepperjack has been a firm favourite on both sides of the ditch for a number of years.

Those that love their reds rich and flavoursome won’t be disappointed here. Using selected parcels of Cabernet fruit from around the Barossa region, aged 12 months in oak, it’s all plush, dark berry fruits and black currants. This is what you’d call pretty much the classic modern Barossa style red!

The Pepperjack crew are big on pairing their reds with the right slab of red meat – try this with a slow roasted lamb shoulder with a herb crust.

    The Lowdown: 14.5% alc / 750ml / Screwcap
