Having nearly exhausted nearly every three number combination in their Bin series Penfolds thought long and hard what to name their next creation after. Then hey presto – how about the guy who actually came up with the Bin series?

Max Schubert. Penfolds Chief Winemaker for 37 years, created the Bin series with the launch of Bin 28 in 1959, created Grange (now regarded as one of the world’s most collectable wines), mastered the art of multi region blending. It’s fair to say then, what a legend!

This is Penfolds to the max (in more ways than one) and a wine that ticks all the boxes of being first class Cabernet. With its bright blackcurrant fruits, savoury richness, ripe tannins and a touch of the mint character found in top examples of this variety – it’ll spin the wheels of the true Cabernet lover for sure.

Blended from fruit in both cool climate areas like Wrattonbully, Coonawarra and Padthaway as well as warmer areas in the Barossa and McLaren Vale. Absolutely delicious right now but has awesome cellaring potential for 14-15 years from vintage.
