Voted Best White Wine Buy of 2018 in Michael Cooper’s latest Wine Buyer’s Guide. Think of it as the NZ Wine Bible. Coops slurps his way through over 3,000 wines (sheesh, hard job right?) and at the end picks his overall best value White & Red drop.
Mud House’s Riesling from an awesome 2016 Waipara vintage is his top white drop. Coops calls it “Offering terrific value, this is a distinctly medium style of Riesling, with loads of drink-young charm.”
And if you need any more convincing about what a sheer bargain this is, he went on to say “Rieslings of excellent, four-star quality typically sell in the $20 to $25 category, so at under $15, this is a steal.”
A mouth-wateringly delicious, juicy, medium style Riesling with loads of citrusy, tropical fruit flavours. So, so moreish this is a must try for summer!
Spicy Asian cuisine like a Thai chicken curry (or even seared scallops if seafood is your thing) is the ideal match for this style of wine.
