Here’s a wine that goes for Gold in plenty of ways.
Gold because Mt.Difficulty, one of Central Otago’s big name producers, are the official wine behind the last NZ Olympic Team gunning for shiny Gold medals at the Olympics.
Speaking of gunning for gold, one of the vineyards (Target Gully) used for this wine was previously used in the gold mining days for shooting. Which is also an Olympic sport.
Gold because it wins plenty of golds and gongs and very flattering write ups year in, year out. If making first class medium sweet Riesling were an Olympic sport, Mt.Difficulty winemaker Matt Dicey would be making top of the podium his own. He’s got this wine down pat. Perfectly balance sweetness and crisp acidity, simply delicious!
Being a Medium style it’ll sit well with spicy Asian cuisine and simple fish dishes. If you can resist temptation, this wine will cellar superbly for 6-9 years.
