Utterly moreish, refreshingly dry style Rosé, it’s sheer deliciousness in a bottle! This is Left Field Rose by Te Awa (part of the Villa Maria group) and much to our surprise (and delight) they’ve actually made some pricing adjustments recently which has seen this wine drop by a few bucks a bottle.
Make no mistake about it – at the new $12.99 price point this makes Left Field Rose one of THE bargain buy Rosés money can buy under $15!
Produced by the Te Awa bunch down there in Hawke’s Bay and while it’s obvious they’re making some seriously, seriously smart Rosé we did wonder on earth they’re smoking down there when they came up with the label. Featuring a “Moon Shell Moth” which apparently “migrates to Left Field on the Eve of Nothing Doing to hitch rides on the lantern boats…cliff dwelling pirates consider the moth good luck and kept them as mascots.” Riiiight.
They went on to say about this latest 2024 release “A deliciously dry Rosé made from Merlot, Pinot Noir and Arneis. We put them in a room together and suddenly had strawberry, cranberry and juicy raspberry flavours bouncing off the walls. Like moths to a pale pink flame, they’ll have your heart all a flutter.”
It’s a style that strikes the perfect balance between those bright, juicy summer berry fruit flavours with a crisp and refreshingly dry finish. Grab a case or two now and make sure you clear space in the fridge, you’ll need it.
