“We make exceptional wines.” is the pretty straight forward statement by the Greystone crew. To be fair, it’s hard to argue against it. Greystone Pinot Gris
From the clay and limestone hills of north Canterbury Greystone’s 37 hectares are made up of twelve single blocks. They’ve made a name for kick ass aromatic Waipara whites and world class Pinot Noir.
This 2018 Greystone Pinot Gris is a luscious, rich style with plenty of texture and a delicious mouth-feel. It’s a class act, plain and simple. That’s why Bob Campbell (Master of Wine) awarded previous vintages of this wine a score of 95/100 four of the vintages going back to 2012. It’s why Michael Cooper (MW) says “At its best, this is one of the finest Pinot Gris in the country.”
This is a Gris to enjoy with chicken, fish and pork dishes (particularly aromatic or spicy Asian cuisine) – drink it now or cellar for up to five years.
