The French call it “Art de Vivre” – the art of living, the French way of life. And for nine generations (since 1701, thus the name of the wine!) the Coste family have been living life and making wine in the south of France. Their motto is “Focus on what’s important in life: family and friends, sharing and life’s pleasures.”

Rosé is their specialty and the 1701 is their jewel in the crown. In fact, Bernard and Olivier Coste (owners and winemakers at Domaine Montrose) reckon “this wine is probably one of the world’s greatest rosés.” One of the world’s most influential wine scribblers Jancis Robinson doesn’t disagree – “The real aristocrat of Languedoc rosé emerged as Domaine Montrose.”

Packaged in this striking bottle with glass top closure, this is no ordinary Rosé that’s for sure! Using the very best fruit this is Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Syrah from volcanic soils and partially oak aged.

Scoring a highly respectable 91/100 in Decanter magazine they described it as “Fragrant and spicy, with a good weight of red berry fruit.”

Splash the case on this extraordinary Rosé – you’ll be rewarded!
