One of the bargain buy white wine deals of the year is in the house! How on earth could you beat this for sheer bang for buck? Just won Trophy for No.1 Pinot Gris at the NZ International Wine Show, then a week later won the Trophy for No.1 Pinot Gris at the New World Wine Awards 2017!
So the gong tally is looking a little bit like this – two Trophies, two Gold medals and a 5 Star rating from Wine Orbit’s Sam Kim. All for this kind of coin? OMG with a little bit of WTF.
Maybe it’s because the wine’s produced by an established, premium winery (Vavasour) and owned by a loaded Yank Billionaire (Bill Foley) who probably has more money than he knows what to do with, we’re not sure but we do know this Dashwood label has well and truly backed up its reputation for being one of the best value labels in NZ!
Supposedly a secondary label, you do have to wonder whether someone got the tanks mixed up at Vavasour!
Following the trend of colour coding their bottle caps – their 2017 Pinot Gris has an eye-catchingly bright orange cap. Under the cap you’ll find a simply delicious off-dry style Gris bursting with lush, stone fruit flavours, just a lick of sweetness and a touch of spice. It is simply divine and a no brainer as your go-to quaffer for summer and beyond. If it doesn’t sell out well before then!
