It’s Butternut Chardonnay all the way from California USA and we’re mighty excited to be one of the first to introduce it to Aotearoa’s buttery Chardonnay guzzlers!

Using premium grapes from the world famous Napa Valley region, as well as Monterey further down the west coast, and aged for 7 months in 100% French oak with 100% malo (that’s short for malolactic fermentation – the fancy winemaking process that makes the wine buttery and creamy). The result? It’s a gorgeously golden Chardonnay with a heap of buttery, creamy goodness and a rich texture.

The winemaker at Butternut is just quietly going a little nuts about his 2017 release too – he said “In the end, due to ample water and sunlight, 2017 produced another excellent vintage!”
