Having nearly exhausted nearly every three number combination in their Bin series Penfolds thought long and hard what to name their next creation after. Then hey presto – how about the guy who actually came up with the Bin series?

Max Schubert. Penfolds Chief Winemaker for 37 years, created the Bin series with the launch of Bin 28 in 1959, created Grange (now regarded as one of the world’s most collectable wines), mastered the art of multi region blending. It’s fair to say then, what a legend!

This is Penfolds to the max (in more ways than one) – a blend of the best fruit from across South Australia. McLaren Vale, Upper Adelaide, Wrattonbully, Barossa Valley, Padthaway, and Langhorne Creek – aged for 12 months in oak, rich and generously flavoured. Drink it now or chuck a few bottles in the cellar and keep it stashed until 2026.
