More than half a century on and this kick arse Bin 128 label is still one of the most sought after in the iconic Penfolds Bin range.
The 128 is made with fruit from the Coonawarra in South Australia, which is more of a cool climate region. That means, unlike the warm climate style Bin 28, this is more of an elegant, silky style Shiraz and so, so easy to enjoy.
It’s what Master of Wine Andrew Caillard calls “Delicious uncomplicated drinking” (95/100), while another MW Huon Hooke called it “A stand out Bin 128…The wine has a lovely silky texture and suppleness, and is deep and intense, bright and fresh”
Drink this one now until 2025 and beyond. For the best food match try Moroccan lamb or beef.
