One of the most incredible, jaw dropping winery clearance deals you’re likely to see in 2026! Cuvar the recently launched wine brand of NZ wine industry legend and Villa Maria founder Sir George Fistonich but due to extremely tough global and domestic economic trading conditions the Fistonich team have made the tough call to slash the price of their multi award winning, single vineyard Awatere Valley Pinot Noir to an utterly bonkers price of $12.99.
This is one of the most incredible value for money Pinot Noir deals we’ve sold in years!
Mark our words. This was NOT a wine made to sell anywhere near the $12-13 price point, but here we are. Initially launched into the market in the $25-30 price bracket extremely tough market conditions mean this award winning Pinot is now being flogged at a rock bottom $12.99. It’s back by a swag of seriously good awards and reviews…

This wine featured in Michael Cooper’s “Best Pinot Noir for $30 or less” column in the NZ Listener in June 2025. Cooper said “Drinking well in its youth, this estate-grown red was harvested in the upper Awatere Valley and matured in seasoned oak barriques. Bright ruby, it is full-bodied and supple, with very good depth of cherry, plum and spice flavours, a gentle seasoning of nutty oak, and considerable complexity. A graceful, harmonious red, it should break into full stride 2026+. $30.”
This really is an absolute no brainer. Using 100% Pinot Noir fruit from their Ballochdale Vineyard in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley – honestly, fill your boots while you can!
