We’ve landed an exclusive, one-off shipment of a seriously, seriously good value Aussie red that scooped a stunning 95/100, a Gold medal AND a Value Gold Award at the world’s largest and most influential wine competitions – the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards in London.

Winning Gold and 95/100 at the Decanter World Wine Awards in London is a pretty bloody big deal – from over 19,000 wines entered a mere 4% of wines won Gold. This was one of them and joined just 62 other Aussie wines to win Gold – and it’s fair to say not many of those are wines at the $20 price point!

The Value Gold Award is given to Gold medal wines that scored 95/100 and retail under the £15 mark (approx NZD$35) – there were just 109 Top Value winners and this made the cut!

Made by the Shingleback winery in the McLaren Vale – the Red Knot GSM is a blend of Grenache (55%), Shiraz (25%) and Mataro (10%). The judges at the DWWA in London had this to say. “A gathering of red plum, cherry and blueberry perfume with scatterings of bright florals joining in, and a sheen of silky texture and tannin to support.”

It’s also been given big ups from some of the biggest wine critics across the ditch…

Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
“You’d have to say that the value of this 2023 release is pretty damn good.”

90/100 & Top Value Award, The Real Review
“Plum, spice, dark cherry and cedar aromas, straightforward. Generous, juicy, dark fruited and very drinkable. There’s real appeal here and outstanding value.”

89/100 & Special Value Award, James Halliday’s Wine Companion
“it delivers well above the tariff. It’s juicy and fruitful, with forest berries, a little raspberry jube and some earthiness, the palate built on sturdy tannins.”

But here’s your heads up – the shipment we received is all they could supply and the only other place you can buy this ’23 vintage it is at the winery!

We’ve tried the wine…a few times….y’know just to be sure! Wow, what a simply incredible bottle of medium weight, luscious red thanks to the juicy, fragrant Grenache, the rich McLaren Vale Shiraz and the succulent Mourvedre!
