Crossroads Talisman is the flagship wine of the Crossroads winery in Hawke’s Bay. We’d love to tell you what it is…but we don’t know, nobody goes. Except one man (or woman). That’s because it’s a secret blend of different varieties that changes from year to year and a closely guarded secret that only the winemaker knows!

The winemaker selects the best grape varieties and the best parcels of fruit that the Hawke’s Bay vintage delivered. Winemaker Miles does give a few clues though with his official blurb on this great 2015 vintage…

“The intriguing medley of aromas combines violet, plum, cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant and clove, supported by toasty oak. Powerful, yet luscious and silky with a flavoursome finish. Talisman has a complex character, with a black heart.”

If we were to have a stab in the dark we’d be guessing there’d be Bordeaux varieties in here – Cabernet, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, maybe some Syrah and less known grapes too. You could try asking Miles yourself, we doubt he’d let it slip though!

Drink this one now or cellar up to 2030.

    The Lowdown: 13% alc / 750ml / Screwcap
