It seems pretty fitting that Villa Maria decided to put their Cellar Selection range behind a Gold label – being NZ’s most awarded winery they’ve won a Gold or few in their time. This is their 2023 vintage Villa Maria Cellar Selection Pinot Noir and, as always, this label delivers a whole heap of bang for your buck for a snip over $20.

Kiwi wine critic Michael Cooper hit the nail on the head when he said “This is typically one of the country’s best-value Pinot Noirs.”

It’s got the legs to be cellared for several years yet, up to around 4-5 years from vintage, so open some now and tuck some away for a few years yet.
