You might know Coopers Creek as the winery based out in Auckland’s western suburb of Kumeu. They actually have vineyards dotted all around NZ and their “SV” (it stands for Select Vineyard) range showcases grape varieties from the parts of NZ they grow best.

This one’s named after the river (Gibsons) that runs through the vineyard down there in the Brancott district of Marlborough. Yawn, not another wine named after a river, stream, mountain or tree!

But what’s in the bottle is anything but boring. A medium to full bodied style Pinot full of juicy, savoury black fruit and cherry flavours.

With a few years bottle age under its belt this one’s drinking nicely right now, but will keep going until 2021. Crack it open with duck, lamb, veal or venison if you’re looking to pair it up with a feed.
