Yee-haw! From the Golden State (that’s California) in the USA comes one of the best value Zinfandels we’ve laid our lips on in quite some time!

Zinfandel (some cool kids just call it Zin) is California’s speciality and, a bit like the people that live there, you get all sorts. From dry, spicy, heart-warming styles to ones that have a high level of sweetness to them. Sebastiani’s 2013 Zin is medium bodied and full of flavour – lush, juicy, ripe red berry fruitiness with a touch of spice. If you’re new to this style this is a great place to start.

Produced in the Sonoma County by a winery started by an Italian immigrant in the late 1800s. During the prohibition days Sebastiani were one of the few places still producing wine – for religious or medicinal purposes of course, It’s probably why they reckon numbers at the local churches sky rocketed!

    The Lowdown: 14.5% alc / 750ml / Cork
