Yee-haw! Hold on to your cowboy hats ‘cos this here is one rich, creamy Chardy all the way from the Golden State itself. That’s California in the USA and the Sebastiani Chardonnay has been gaining a big rep with NZ’s Chardy loving hardcore since landing on our shores a few years back.
Produced in the Sonoma County, one of California’s top Chardonnay growing regions, by a winery started by an Italian immigrant in the late 1800s. During the prohibition days Sebastiani were one of the few places still producing wine – for religious or medicinal purposes of course (probably why numbers at the local churches sky rocketed!).
Rich, sweet fruit in a subtly creamy style. Perfect with seafood, chicken or duck dishes in creamy sauces – yum!
