A stunner Syrah from the south of France! Just recently featured as “Buy of the Week” by Bob Campbell Master of Wine – we’ve snagged the whole lot and we think you’ll agree this is an absolutely beauty of a buy!

‘Passage du Sud’ means ‘On its way to the South’ and it’s NZ Master of Wine Steve Bennett who heads north to (literally) sniff out wine bargains to bring back south.

Produced by the LGI wine group. LGI is the brainchild of Frenchman Alain Grignon from the Languedoc region in the south of France. Alain’s vision was to produce wine for the international market that offered great bang for your buck. Winner of “Best French Still Wine Producer” of the year at the prestigious Berliner Wein Trophy three years running in 2017, 2018 and 2019 – magnifique!

Buy of the Week & 92/100 – Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review (13/10/2021)
“From four departments in Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France. Dense, fruity syrah with cassis, ripe plum, raspberry, pepper, floral and red rose flavours. A rich, almost luscious red that offers great value at $19.99.”

91/100 – Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
“Bright and delightfully perfumed, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, ripe strawberry, floral and subtle spice aromas, leading to a silky-smooth palate offering lovely fruit purity and rounded mouthfeel. Supple and juicy with plenty of tasty flavours. At its best: now to 2025.”

Produced using highly concentrated Syrah fruit from four departments close to the Montagne Noir (Black Mountain range) in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France.

Bob nailed it when he called it “A rich, almost luscious red that offers great value at $19.99.– in exchange for taking the whole shipment we’re able to pass on a discount and we think you’ll agree, it’s worth every cent and then some! Hook in with absolute confidence on this one.
