G.H Mumm Cordon Rouge – or simply known as Mumm around the globe – it’s one of the world’s most famous Champagne names.
Formed by three German brothers who crossed the border to France in 1827. These days it’s full throttle for Mumm, pronounced moom, churning out a staggering 8 million bottles to every corner of the globe per year.
The red stripe/sash across the label is the iconic symbol of G.H Mumm and it dates back to 1876 when Georges Hermann Mumm was awarded the Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest civilian award, and decided to mark the achievement by representing the red ribbon on every bottle of his much loved Brut Cuvée.
Every bottle of Mumm is a blend of over 100 different crus and cellar master Yann Munier describes the wine – “Such a lively personality. Mumm Cordon Rouge is the perfect champagne to share with friends for an apéritif or tapas, when everyone feels relaxed and the conversation flows.”
