One of the top selling premium Côtes du Rhône brands in the UK, made by one of the Rhone Valley’s leading producers Gabriel Meffre.
Being in the top hitters list in the UK is a pretty big deal given how much quality French red the Brits glug every year (they’re the second biggest export market for France). Packaged in a traditional, old world style label under cork closure – this looks and tastes the part of a quality Côtes-du-Rhône you’d happily pay $20-25 for.
If you’re new to Côtes-du-Rhône let’s bring you up to speed eh? From the Rhone Valley in the south of France “Côtes du Rhône” is one of the most famous styles of French red, it’s a blend of Syrah and Grenache (and sometimes other grape varieties, like a splash Mourvedre in this one) and is loved all over the world for it’s medium bodied, spicy, warm-hearted style and all year round drinkability.
La Chasse is not to be confused with “Tirer La Châsse” (which actually means to flush the toilet) – this “La Châsse” is actually named after a historic chest holding treasures from 14th century French monks.
Just the wine for your favourite grilled or roasted red meat dishes, cheeses or Mediterranean cuisine. Or how about going a La Francais and whipping up a Beef Bourguignon? Bon appetit!
