Barossa Ink by Grant Burge. Big, dark, bold, full bodied, opulent red with lashings of dark, ripe fruits delivered with a whopping high alcohol 14.5% bang!
Warning – don’t spill on the carpet, they called it Ink for a reason!
It scored 91/100 by Bob Campbell, who said “The wine lives up to its brand with an ink-like hue and syrupy intensity. A classic and traditional Barossa style with masses of plum, dark berry, liquorice and
chocolate/mocha flavours. High alcohol, ripe fruit and American oak give the wine an almost luscious sweetness that could cloy after a few glasses. A real ‘crowd pleaser’ offering value at this price ($19).”
It also picked up 4 Star & Best Buy award (meaning it offers that extra bang for your buck) in Cuisine magazine not so long ago. Rating it as a wine sitting on shelves at $19, the judges said “Ink by name as it is inky in colour (intense purple), this is one is for the hedonists. It is unabashedly ripe and rich in style…the texture is velvet soft. It’s a wine that is a celebration of Barossa-ripened fruit. Easy to drink and easy on the wallet”
It’s big, bold Barossa at its best – you beauty!
