Their Sauvy is just so damn good (29 Gold medals or equivalent in the last six years!) that when a deal for their Pinot Gris turned up on the table we could hardly say no!
Major US wine magazine ‘Wine Enthusiast’ gave them a totally flattering review, saying "one of New Zealand’s best white wine producers".
Har and Sophie Eradus, and their two kids, were originally in the flower business in Holland but in 1982 they moved to NZ. After 20 years of dealing with bunches of flowers it was time to get their hands on bunches of another kind, grapes!
In 2004 Hanna and Michiel Eradus took over the reigns. When cleaning out an old shed at the winery one day they came across an old pot belly door with an embossed logo. Wiping it down, it revealed the letters "H, S and E" – Har and Sophie Eradus maybe? Spooky!
The Eradus crew describe their 2015 Single Vineyard Gris as "rich, smooth, fruity and zingy".
