We won’t bore you with the story behind how this label got its name – Captain George Vancouver, HMS Discovery, it’s a nautical themed story that’ll put you to sleep.

What’s far more interesting is the two blokes that banged their heads together to craft this simply amazing value Martinborough Pinot. NZ Master of Wine Steve Bennett and legendary winemaker Rod McDonald rolled up their sleeves to make what NZ Listener magazine listed as one of “The best red wines in New Zealand for under $30“.

Slurping his way through a stash of good NZ reds under thirty bucks, Michael Cooper called this one “good-value red was made in a Burgundy-inspired style. Ruby hued, it is a floral, supple, medium-bodied wine.”
