Ok, so we know that Villa Maria are one of the best producers in NZ and that they win a hell of a lot of medals (in fact they’re NZ’s most awarded winery) but when even their entry level, everyday quaffing Private Bin label is getting in on the act you know they’ve got the golden touch!

And blow us down – it’s delivered the goods yet again taking out the No.1 spot in Cuisine magazine’s annual Sauvignon Blanc tasting! The judges said quite simply “The very definition of best buying.”

It’s why wine critic Michael Cooper says “This huge-volume label offers consistently good quality and value. Highly aromatic, it is a crisp, medium-bodied wine with strong, vibrant, tropical-fruit and herbaceous flavours, dry and finely balanced, and plenty of drink-young appeal.”
