Single vineyard wines, hand crafted in small batches and all bottles individually numbered. This is the 2019 vintage Merlot using fruit from their Redstone vineyard in Hawke’s Bay.
In terms of a Merlot this is a bit of a whopper – so tread with caution! Scoring 96/100 with Master of Wine Bob Campbell, who said “Inky, power-packed merlot with cassis, blackberry essence, dark chocolate, licorice and nutty French oak supported by fine, ripe tannins and subtle acidity. A bit overwhelming in its youth, the wine will show great promise after 5-10 years’ bottle age.”
Good to go now but crafted with the long term in mind too – cellar up to 15 years from vintage.
