HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS! A Pinot super deal has blown our way! Quality Pinot Noir made by ridiculously talented winemaker Dom Maxwell of Greystone in Waipara. Elsewhere online and in retail right now selling for $28-30 per bottle, now deep cut to $19.99 on this deal! Limited stocks.

“We believe we have made the quintessential North Canterbury Pinot Noir. It has a powerful, savoury palate of soft dry tannins, integrated with rich plum and raisin fruit flavours and a long and lingering mouthfeel.” – Dom Maxwell, winemaker.

Nor’wester by Greystone Pinot Noir is made by Greystone in the Waipara, North Canterbury region, one sip and you’ll see this is a Pinot of obvious quality and complexity and proof these guys simply do not put their name to anything other than bloody good wine.

As Dom explains “As demand grows beyond our vineyard’s production size, we decided to make a wine curated from a selection of the finest Pinot Noir grapes we could find across North Canterbury. An approach which is inspired by the tradition of Negociant houses of Burgundy.”

“We found three vineyards that offered incredibly high quality with a variety of soil types. We think showcasing a blend of these highlights the best of North Canterbury Pinot Noir, while still meeting the Greystone standard of uncompromising quality.”

Named after the famous Nor’Wester gale that accelerates down the valleys of the South Island’s Main Divide and makes its way across the Canterbury plains. While no doubt taking many an unsecured hat roaring along with it, this hot and dry wind helps protect disease pressure in the vineyard, dries the vines and leaves smaller berries with thicker skins.

As Greystone’s head viticulturist says – “That’s great for concentration in the final wine. So for fans who love a richer style of Pinot Noir it’s a great thing.”

Of course we’ve tried this one….several times, y’know just to be sure! We absolutely love it. With a couple of years bottle age under its belt already it’s drinking superbly right now but could easily cellar up until 2030. Grab a case now, you’ll be seriously glad you did.
