This is the highly popular Louis Bouillot Perle de Vigne Cremant de Bourgogne and if you need to know just one thing about Cremant sparkling wine it’s like Champagne on a shoestring budget.

Produced in eight Cremant appellations around France (this one is from Burgundy) the rules and regulations for Cremant production are only slightly less as strict as those in the Champagne region. These include things like mandatory hand harvested grapes, whole bunch pressed and no more than 100 litres of juice per 150kg of grapes.

Winning 4 1/2 Stars in Cuisine magazine’s annual fizz tasting in 2022, the judges said “Pale and bright in the glass with aromas of lemon sorbet and citrus flowers on the nose. The palate is very well structured and weighted with a vivacious mousse and excellent focus and length.”
