Chardonnay aged in Scotch whiskey barrels?! What started off as a crazy wine experiment back in 2012 has now become a regular in the Jacob’s Creek line up – Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel. And as the name suggests, there’s more than one barrel that helps to add more richness, texture and complex flavours.

What started with selected parcels of Chardonnay from Barossa vineyards (and a splash from the Limestone Coast) was 50% aged in American oak barrels before being finished in aged Scotch whisky barrels!

Scoring 87/100 with The Real Review’s Huon Hooke who called it “Light, bright yellow colour, with a creamy lees and restrained fruit aroma.”
