There’s no end of NZ wine labels name after beautiful rivers, mountains, lakes and streams – but how about a ridge covered in pricks? Thistles to be precise!

The land was bought and the grapes ready to plant – but not before a long, hard session on this hillside ridge in the Waipara clearing those damn thistles, undoubtedly a prick of a job!

Produced by the same crowd that makes the award winning Greystone range, this Pinot’s medium bodied with plenty of plump dark berry fruit flavours and a touch of spice. For a snip under twenty bucks it’s pretty sharp stuff in more ways than one!

    The Lowdown: 12.5% alc / 750ml / Screwcap
