Woods Crampton. That’s Aaron Woods & Nicholas Crampton and they’re a small winemaking/designer/marketing duo across that ditch behind this cool looking Barossa label.
Actually, “small” is their word. These guys went from producing 1500 dozen to 30,000 in no time and now export all around the globe. In short, the wines look and taste the part and are on fire for a bloody good reason!
Produced from low yielding, old vine vineyards across the Barossa region and aged for 9 months in oak. This wine also has the added bonus of being vegan friendly and lower in sulphites as they have minimal intervention.
This is the latest 2022 release and it scored 89/100 and a Special Value Award in James Halliday’s Wine Companion, they said “There’s a real juicy, plummy vibe going on with this release. Lots of milk chocolate, blueberry pie, clotted cream, fine spice, vanillin oak, licorice and purple floral tones as well. It sits in the medium-bodied camo and has a glossy, contemporary feel, finishing with ripe red and blue fruits and gentle tannins, and that milk chocolate thing carries through right to the tail end of the wine’s travel.
