One of the hottest Sauvignon Blancs to lay your mits on right now! Featured in Forbes magazine’s “The World’s Best Sauvignon Blancs”. Six selected. One New Zealand wine. This is it!
This seriously good Sauvignon has won large on the international stage – taking out a Gold medal and 96/100 score at the Decanter World Wine Awards in London! Winning Gold at the DWWA in London is a big deal – from over 18,000 wines entered a mere 4% of wines won Gold.
Of the six highest ranking Sauvignon Blancs from entries around the globe – this was one of them and the only Kiwi wine.
For the record the other five were:
Château De Tracy Pouilly‑Fumé 2023 (Loire Valley, France)
Markus Prackwieser Gump Hof Praesulis Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (Alto Adige, Italy)
Durbanville Hills The Tangram 2023 (Cape Town, South Africa)
Clos du Val Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (California, USA)
Domaine Landrat-Guyollot Gemme Océane Pouilly-Fumé 2022 (Loire Valley, France)
The judges at the DWWA in London said “An unmistakable passion fruit, lime flower, angelica and basil fragrance wafts liberally over the nose and sinks into the steely, mineral palate. Long and salivating.”
Named after a natural spring that pops up in their Rapaura vineyard there in Marlborough. They’re a name that’s been popping up on the radars of wine scribblers, judges, critics and (most importantly) wine lovers across the world.
This is Rapaura Spring’s “Rohe” series which means territory in Maori. They’ve selected special sites within key sub regions of Marlborough like Dillons Point, Blind River, Rapaura, Awatere and the Southern Valleys, which is where this Sauvignon was produced.
Blink and you’ll miss it. Stocks are extremely limited and in high demand for this world class SauvyB!
