When Catherine (the daughter of Beaujolais winegrowers) met Laurent (from a family of Burgundian wine negociants) in 1986 at university studying oenology (wine and winemaking!) it was inevitable their future was in le vin (wine!).
In the 1990s Catherine and Laurent headed to the Languedoc in the south of France with no vines, no winery and very little coin in the bank but a lot of determination to launch their own wine brand. By the early 2000s Les Jamelles was born and exported to the USA where it caught the eye (and nose and mouth) of Robert Parker, one of the world’s most influential wine critics. The rest as they say is history and today Les Jamelles is one of the Languedoc’s largest producer and exported to 45 countries across the planet.
This is the Les Petites Jamelles range and they’re all about big value, uncomplicated, fruit forward, easy drinking styles that give you a little introduction into the sheer bang for buck you can get from this part of the wine world. Or as we call it Le Petit Quaffer!
For a measly price tag this delivers a serious amount of value and is a perfect introduction to the world of dry, pale pink, super sipping Rosé from the south of France!
Scoring 4 1/2 Stars in Cuisine magazine’s 2025 Rosé tasting the judges said “A highly expressive Languedoc style of rosé with red fruits and thyme aromas on the nose. The palate has a savoury edge with a subtle acid-led drive but is very well balanced and attractive. Bright and fresh with a dry mineral finish.”
