“We make exceptional wines.” is the pretty straight forward statement by the Greystone crew. To be fair, it’s hard to argue against it. Especially their Greystone Organic Chardonnay which, to be pretty straight forward, is one of the region’s great Chardonnays year after year.
This 2023 vintage is yet another seriously good release with a 95 point score under its belt already…
95/100 (Cam Douglas MS)
“Dry, taut, youthful, fresh and utterly delicious. A wine that reminds me of outstanding Chablis with its signature mineral the lees and flinty fruit core.”
From the clay and limestone hills of north Canterbury, Greystone’s 37 hectares are made up of twelve single blocks and they’re all about letting nature do its thing. No nasty chemicals used here, they hand picked the fruit before whole bunch pressing one block and foot crushing the other, then naturally fermented it in French oak. They even bottle the wine on site (a luxury not every winery can afford!) to ensure absolute maximum quality.
Seriously bloody good wine, it’ll only get better over the next few years.
