“Great value: is this really the price?” – Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Hallelujah it sure is! Chapel Hill is located on the site of a 150 year old iconic chapel in the McLaren Vale. Best known for their Shiraz we stumbled across this stunning value GSM (Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre) blend from the 2024 vintage.
This is the blend that’s best known from the likes of Cotes du Rhone in France – this is a seriously good example of the style from another part of the world!
Also scoring 90/100 plus a Top Value Award with The Real Review who said “It’s a churchy sort of place, Chapel Hill, with wines named Prophet, Vicar, Parson, Devil and The Chosen. The Parson is appropriately humble in its price. Good depth of red-purple colour and a fresh, bright pepper-spice and cherry fruit-driven bouquet. It’s medium bodied at most, with soft fine tannins and sweetly ripe flavour which is young and fairly straightforward in its youth. Very attractive early-drinking red at a great price, and it will also take some age well.”
This is a style that’ll pair really well with barbecued and grilled red meats and stews.

Damn, you're looking young for your age!
